Montbenoît: it is nonetheless true that this micronation is rooted in a territory of 128 km² and a history dating back to medieval times. To complete its identity, the Republic of Saugeais also has a coat of arms, an anthem, a postage stamp, its own currency, a customs officer issuing passes, and, until just a few years ago, its own language, Saugette, whose origins are said to date back to the Thirty Years’ War in the 17th century.
