Papy Gaby, whose real name was Emile-Gabriel-Félicien Marguet, was born on December 13, 1919, in Gilley. He was the son of Louis Marguet and Louise Gremaut.
He spent his youth in Gilley, where he met Andrée-Marie-Joseph Loriod (born on September 16, 1924, in Rivière Drugeon); they were married on October 21, 1946, in Rivière Drugeon. They had three sons: Gérard, Claude, and Didier.
Papy Gaby ran a butcher shop in Villers-le-Lac from January 24, 1946, until 1971. From 1971 to 1973, he built the tuyé. The tuyé opened in 1973. In 1986, his son Gérard took over the tuyé, and in 1991, Claude joined him.
